Sri Lanka General Election 2024.

Sri Lanka is going to hold its latest General Election 2024 on 14th November 2024. NPP and SJB are the main contenders. Meanwhile parties like UNP and PPP don’t have much chances to win in this election as they got few votes only in the last held presidential election. Sri Lanka New President 2024.

2024 President election in Sri Lanka was held on 21st September 2024 peacefully. Anura Kumara Disanayake of NPP sworn in as Sri Lanka’s 9th Executive President, on 22nd September 2024. Nominated President Ranil had left from his official resident. He had lost in the President election and placed in the 3rd place, behind Sajith Premadsa who was second in the election.

New Luxury Tourist Train Service on Colombo – Jaffna Route (Yarl Nila).

Yaal Nila Jaffna bound train leaves Colombo at 22:00 pm night on Fridays and will start its journey from Jaffna at 22:00pm night on Sundays only.
Ticket price first class Rs 4,000/-, Second class Rs 3,000/- and for the Third class Rs 2,000/-.

This stoppage is for to do Jaffna Train track renovation work.
Currently trains travel up to Anuradhapura or Maho station.
The direct train service is expected to commence by September 2024.
This Jaffna bound passengers need to use Bus to catch connection train service. In addition they use the Colombo – Jaffna direct Luxury bus service.
You can’t reach Nullur Temple area by Luxury bus as that area roads are closed for vehicle traffic.
