LOCAL CALLING CARDS.
There are two kinds of calling cards are available in all countries. For example in Sri Lanka there are local phone call cards and International calling cards. These cards are small in size and looks like a credit card. Srilanka calling cards can call both the local and the international calls any time through any public phones.
The cards can be purchased from communication centers, post offices, telephone exchanges and small shops according to your need. The cards will be marked with price and comes in small sealed plastic bags. They will not be marked with the calling minutes as it may varies with the peak or off peak time. Normally Sundays and holidays will give you more talking time in most of the countries all over the world except Arab countries where Friday is holiday.
Every time you insert the phone card according to instruction the magnet bar or the computer chip will show you the available money in the card. Once you start to talk the money will also go reduced according to the nature of the call. This will be shown in the digital counter on the phone.
As a caller you must know that calling a mobile phone or CDMA phone will be costly one than calling any land line.
Before you insert the card in to the public phone read the instruction well. If you are going to call for a long time with two calling cards you have the option of inserting the second card before the first card going to finish its money value. Once the first card is going to finish you will hear a warning signal while you are talking. With out stop talking you can press the continue button and remove the first card and insert the second card. It will give more minutes than cutting the call and making a new connection call.
